1. She has suffered from a concussion.
2. The emergency procedure was ordered because in the ER, her symptoms point towards raised intracranial tension which can be fatal if not controlled immediately.
3. Drainage of CSF, sedation and control with osmoregulators like hypertonic saline or mannitol.
4. The long term prognosis is favourable if treated immediately.
