Informatics means the science of processing data for storage and retrieval

Nursing informatics means informatics is mainly applied to the field of health care, essentially the management and use of patient healthcare information.

Information technology means the study of systems especially computers and telecommunications for storing, retrieving and sending information.

So to summarize information technology is study of systems,

And when this systems are used to store and retrive any data it is called informatics,

And when this systems are particularly used for nursing care of patient, for patient data it is known as nursing informatics.
