Federally qualified health center normally receive funds from the government sector and delivers gross level care in outpatient level. The care is most focused on preventive and curative services in the community sector to people who are in below socioeconomic status and those who are underprivileged community and don't have easy access to health care services. Federally qualified health centre helps to meet health care needs of people in underserved area or population.

FQHC meet vulnerable population needs by detecting the population in need for the health care services it focuses on providing preventive and curative services. For ex) Anemia campaign is done to identify the incidence of anemia among the given group and preventive measures are initiated by educating community regarding prevention of anemia and dietary management.

FQHC are important safety health care providers for all vulnerable population in the community. The cost effective care to all community people are paid irrespective of the person's ability to pay. FQHC also serves individual who don't have homes . It also helps people suffered with substance abuse behavior. School based services are also rendered like proving lunch at free of cost or reduced rates, free immunization , oral health programs, early detection of chronic illness, mental health promotion, substance abuse,dental hygiene,detection of learning disability.
