1. Following adult learning principles incorporated into training program such as:

  • Motivation to engaged in job responsibility
  • Use their experience in the filed
  • Freedom to take assigned training activities
  • Involved employees in the development of training materials; seek their input
  • Opportunities of learners to assess their own levels of learning.
  • Offer feedback
  • Incorporate the experience of employees into your training program through On-the Job training, coaching, and mentoring programs.

2. Principles were included:

  • Adult are internally motivated and self directed
  • Adults bring life experience and knowledge to learning experiences
  • Adults are goal oriented
  • Adults are relevancy oriented
  • Adults are practical
  • Adults learner like to be respected

Principles were absent:

  1. Barriers against participating include lack of money, time, interest and lack of information about opportunities to learn.
  2. Creating an environment where all participants feel they have a valuable contribution can work to allay such concerns.
  3. Some may have had poor prior experiences with education leading to feelings of inadequacy and fear of study and failure
