"How do you decide" can be interpreted as how you personally decide, how people in general decide, or how a person should decide.
Personally, I believe that world is going on right path in terms of gender equality and women empowerment. The pace of this empowerment is slow but it is continuous and increasing. One day we will have a world where there will be 100% equality for women in all over the world in terms of everything like education, wages, rights, opportunities etc.
During the debate on given issue or topic between two people, first I listen to the points and arguments made by each of them. After analysing and thinking, whoever sounds more correct, logical and makes reasonable points, I decide the winner and give my opinion for choosing the winner with explanation without any biasing.
So, how a person decides the winner, depends on many factors like the knowledge of the person judging, his prejudice, his individuals opinions about the topic which is being discussed, his or her sentiments regards the issue, experience of judging such events any many other intellectual and psychological factors affect the final decision. Sometimes people are biased while giving judgement.
When I judge, I keep my personal thoughts and emotions aside and then decide rationally. Other people also do the same probably but we cannot say anything about others judgemental perspectives and deciding scale factors.
