1. Interaction between antibiotic medication Ciprofloxacin and vitamin and mineral supplements :-

Ciprofloxacin has many drug-drug interactions. Most interactions are related to either inhibiting the metabolism of the interacting drug or decreasing the absorption of ciprofloxacin. Some ones to remember include antacids and warfarin.

Ciprofloxacin should be taken on an empty stomach if at all possible. If the patient takes a vitamin then they should try to take it 2 hours before of after the administration of ciprofloxacin. Administer antacids 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking ciprofloxacin.

2. Risks of using long term corticosteroid are :-

- Glucose intolerance

- Myopathy

- Iatrogenic Cushing syndrome

- Growth retardation

- Osteoporosis

- Addisons crisis

3. Interaction between anticoagulant ( warfarin ) and dietary supplements is between warfarin and vitamin k . Vitamin K should not be given with warfarin as it inhibits the action of warfarin.

4. Nutrition advice regarding warfarin and vitamin K is that Vitamin K should not be taken along with warfarin because it is the antidote of warfarin and reverses the action of warfarin.
