Discussion topic: What are the main causes of migration? Identify and discuss two changes to U.S. immigration policy that you think should be made immediately. How likely is that these changes will be made? Explain your reasoning.

There are many causes of migration. The first cause of migration is the search of good job opportunity and robust labor market conditions. It is the reason that many people from Mexico and other countries migrate to the USA. The second cause is the disturbed or violent domestic economic conditions making people to migrate and escape the danger of volatility and remain safe in other nations. The third cause is the match of skills lying in other countries and making people to migrate to utilize the high end skills. The fourth cause is that people have their own dreams and to realize it they migrate.

The first immigration policy change should be to take up those people who own high end skills and they can contribute to the increase the GDP via different means. These people should be immediately given the migration. The second immigration policy is considering wives and kids of migrant people to be treated as illegal migrants and there are being deported. It happened recently and it should be stopped. It should be replaced by the broader policy where migrant can either pay to make wife to be migrant status as well or lose his own migrant status. Kids with these parents and born in USA, should be considered as US citizen. It seems difficult to get implementation of these policies as Trump administration as of now, is trying to make America great again and is trying to come up with stringent immigration policy. These policies can only be implemented when there is a liberal or democratic party government.
