i) In Go Back N if out of sequence frame arrives then it is discarded whereas in selective repeat it is not discarded but protocol waits for correct sequence number frame and then arranges all the frames.
ii) If out of sequence frame is received, most probably the required frame was lost. So at transmitting station timer times out for that frame and is sent again and all other frames are also sent. For instance receiver expects frame number 2 but instead it gets 3, 4, and 5. They all are discarded at receiver and 2, 3,4, 5 are sent again.
In selective repeat only the frame lost is sent again if it gets lost. No other frame is sent as it is stored by the receiver and later rearranged. For example, For instance receiver expects frame number 2 but instead it receives 3 , 4, 5, so it keeps all of these but keeps sending request for frame number 2 until it receives it.
iii) In stop and wait only one packet whose timer is timed out is retransmitted again whereas in Go Back N, all N packets present in the window are sent again to the receiver.
Hope this helps

Intro. To Telecommunications Assign#4 (d) Suppose the same situation as above but sender and receiver use Selective Repeat ARQ What frame(s) would the sender need to retransmit? Explain. 1. Suppose that a sender and a receiver are using ARQ to perform reliable data delivery. (a) In a Go-Back-N ARQ protocol, the window size is 6. Frames with sequence numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have been sent. The sender just received an...
(a) A data link with a 1 Gigabits/sec capacity is used to transmit packets made up of 1400 bytes of data and 100 bytes of protocol control information. Each packet is acknowledged by a short frame of size 150 bytes. The propagation speed in the transmission medium is 200,000 km/sec. Consider the buffering and processing time in the nodes to be negligible. A node A communicates with a node B, with a distance between nodes A and B of 16...
4. Two new mathematics learning techniques are being tested. Twenty students were randomly selected from a population. nA 9 of them were randomly assigned to use technique A, and nB 11 of them were randomly assigned to use technique B. Each student spent 30 minutes learning the technique to which they were assigned, and then were asked to complete a task. The time to complete the task was recorded, in seconds. A shorter time indicates better mastery of the task....
