Nursing has long realized the impotance of linking research to practice. Recent research has shoiwn that Northern Hemisphere populations have a significant deficiency in vitimin D in thier diet; obesity is linked with fatty liver development; children"s sports such as soccer are associated with high incidence of concussion; and air pollution contributes to high rates of asthma.
a. Critically analyze how the above research is associated with the pathologic concept of celluar injury
b.Describe potential treatments to celluar injury that are currently under investigation
a) Cell damage or injury is a variety of changes of stress that a cell suffers due to external as well as internal environmental changes. Amongst other causes, this can be due to physical, chemical, infectious, biological, nutritional or immunological factors. In the above researchs it's been found that due to some of the environmental changes whether inner or outer in the form of deficiencies , outer injury etc is affecting the cells and causing damage .
b) The potential treatments to cellular injury that are currently under investigation like
- the administration of hydrogen sulfide as a therapeutic agent in the setting of ischemia–reperfusion can markedly attenuate the inflammatory response with subsequent mitigation of tissue injury and improved function.
