Construction Penalties Gonzales Construction contracted Kentwood High and Memorial Stadium for a total cost of $4.7 million. Because the construction was not completed on time, Gonzales paid 5% of the amount of the high school contract in penalties and 4% of the amount of the stadium contract in penalties. If the total penalty was $223,000, then what was the amount of each contract?
