Answer #1

Solution:

Given,

p = 95% = 0.65

1 - p = 1 - 0.65 = 0.35

n = 12

\therefore X follows the Binomial(12 , 0.65)

Using binomial probability formula ,

P(X = x) = (n C x) * px * (1 - p)n - x ; x = 0 ,1 , 2 , ....., n

P(X = Exactly 5) = (12 C 5) * 0.655 * (0.35)12 - 5 = [12!/(5! * 7!)] * 0.655 * (0.35)7 = 0.059

P(X = Exactly 5) = 0.059
