When a nurse explains and educates the patient about his condition, disease, signs and symptoms, treatment and medical procedures. The nurse plays the role of an educator.

When the nurse protects the rights of patient and protect the patient from any kind of violations, injustice, inequality, the nurse plays the role of patient advocate.
