Barbara carpers identified four essential patterns in nursing.

They are empirical, personal ,ethical, aesthetic.

Empirical knowledge include acquiring information by documentations and behaviour patterns through experiments and also through theory,concepts, facts.

Personal knowledge is obtained by the personal experience through personal encounter.

Ethical knowledge include personal characters,intentions,motives of a individual goes above the knowledge of nursing and appliactions of right motives towards the care of person.

Aesthetic knowledge include the art of nursing which depends on experience.
