Answer #1

ANSWER.

4) a) Calculation of total weekly dose.

             Ordered dose = 0.35 mg/kg/weekly.

Weight of the patient = 44 kg.

      So

Total weekly dose for this patient = 0.35 * 44

                                                              = 15.4 mg/week.

b) Calculation of daily dose.

Total weekly dose for this patient = 15.4 mg/week

                       1 week = 7 days

          So

           Daily dose for this patient = 15.4 / 7

                                                     = 2.2 mg/day.

c) Calculation of daily volume(ml) of injection.

        Formula

Volume(ml) = Desired dose / Dose in hand * Quantity.

     Here

          Desired dose (D) = 2.2 mg/day.

          Dose in hand (H) = 4 mg.

            Quantity(Q) = 1 ml

As per above formula

Volume of drug required per day = D/H * Q

                                                            = 2.2 / 4 * 1

                                                            = 0.55 ml.
