The sensorimotor and the preoperational stage are tye developmental stage of children. In both the stage children learns cognitive development.

In sensorimotor development occurs in the first two years of life.It is very fast.A child uses the skills like sucking ,holding things,seeing, smelling ,touch ,taste and listening to others.They learn mainly on the grounds of trail and error methods. They exhibit primary, secondary and tertiary circular reactions as they develop. They often repeat things,mimic others,making symbols, They start to think that an object are present when they cannot be seen called as object permanence

The peroperational stage of development is from 2 years to 7 years. Here they start to manipulate the symbols. They start role playing here.They dies not have any concrete logic behind their actions, They pretend things and play with it.Certain childrens are anle to understand conservation,they are egocentric.They learn and develop their language skills .
