ANSWER.

* Calculation of volume(ml) of drug required.

      Volume(ml) = Desired dose(D)/Dose in hand(H) * Quantity(Q).

Here

        Ordered dose = 1 g/kg

        Weight of the patient = 145 lb.

Convert lb to kg for calculation

            1 lb = 0.454 kg

    So

        Weight of the patient in kg = 145 * 0.454

                                                   = 65.8 kg.

       Desired dose(D) = 1 * 65.8

                                    = 65.8 g.

       Dose in hand(H) = 20 g.

            Quantity(Q) = 100 ml.

As per above formula

      Volume(ml) of drug required = D/H * Q

                                                    = 65.8/20 * 100

                                                    = 3.3 * 100

                                                    = 330 ml.

* Calculation of IV pump rate (ml/hr).

         Rate(ml/hr) = Volume(ml) / Time(hr).

    Here

        Volume(ml) = 330 ml.

        Time(hr) = 1 hr (60 min).

As per above formula

         Rate (ml/hr) = 330/1

                              = 330 ml/hr.
