Answer #1

Some of the findings on the physical assessment which could affect the outcome of surgical procedures are

●Integumentary:infected wounds, major cuts, burns, contagious skin infection like MRSA which can invade blood stream and cause infections post surgery

●Lungs:Severe congestion, wheezing, respiratory problems can be a concern both ore and post operatively because anesthesia can depress the respiratory function. An abnormal assessment preoperatively can put the patient under high risk for respiratory complications post operatively

●Cardiovascular:An EF less than 60 % ,abnormal rate and rhythm , tachycardia or bradycardia can affect the outcome of surgical procedure

●Gastrointestinal:Decreased bowel sounds can affect the outcome of surgery because anesthesia cease or decrease the function or peristalsis of the bowel movements

●Genitourinary/Reproductive:infection (urinary and reproductive), decreased urinary output can affect the outcome of an surgery
