Answer: Some of the strategies that can be used to empower patients or families in all aspects of the health care process are:

• Understanding the patient needs is important as it provides platform to reduce the health disparities.
• Evaluating patient's skill and enhance the decision making skill of patient.
• Providing cultural competence environment to the patient. This will make patient to feel more comfortable.
• Providing counselling, advocacy as well as plan of care to the patient and families.
• Providing safe environment to patient.
