So, basically what Danna pycher is saying is that it is the stress which is the main cause of disease . It affects the whole body ,mins and spirit . Stress is important at initial statge only while the continued connection with it leads to physical and mental discomfort . It gets recorded in sub concious mind and keeps on haunting. How it works is it affects our nervous system then it makes the endocrine system to release stree hormones and causes stress.

How can we survive is that , we can't change what has happened with us in the past but we can modify the perception and decreases the weight we give it to it in our sub concious mind . In this you are allowing the subconscious mind to cope up with the past memories and hence healing yourself .
