diabetes is currently increasing everywhere in the world. It is lifestyle disease as people are refraining from health promoting behaviour. Being one of the preventable disease, its burden ob economy can be reduced by providing effective and necessary education regarding diabetes. For effective implementation of education programme, a comprehensive audience analysis should be done beforehand.
Audience analysis is analysis of audience in terms of various factors like age, culture, education , gender and knowledge so as to plan the information being provided is utilised effectively.after analysing the audience. Audience analysis for a diabetes program could include ethnicity, acculturation, religion, patterns of decision making, reason for seeking care, beliefs about the problem, current diet, food preparation practices, the meaning of food in patients’ lives,5 perception of diabetes, attitudes, readiness to change, empowerment, personal interests, values, and goals

considering racial and ethical factors in prevalence of diabetes among population,develop appropriate messages, and disseminate these messages and other information through the most suitable channels for addressing cultural variations within ethnic communities
