What is the major barrier to transplantation?
Risk of rejection or Scarcity of available donors
Please explain the rationale.
The availability of the ethical donors as per the existing regulations of the organ donation is the very crucial issue in this changing scenario. For the example in case of the organ rejection like in kidney transplantation we can reduce the immunity by the immunosuppressants and there are various methods to mitigate the risks of the rejection. But the organ donation can only possible from the legal consent as there is the compulsion as per rules. As per repors there is very shortage of the availabe donors to fulfill the demands.
Hence the Scarcity of available donors is the major barrier to transplantation than the risk of the rejection.
