There are four types of relationships that can improve work relationships are trust, mutual respect, mindfulness, welcome diversity
Each partnership of work needs to be built on a foundation, and trust is one of the foundations. There can be no real partnership in interaction without faith. With confidence in the working relationship, individuals will feel more open to expressing their true concerns without fear of mockery or retaliation. I can do my job effectively, for instance, in my current job, and the teacher's assistant feels comfortable speaking to me about their questions about how other substitutes are dealing with our students. She thinks she can trust me because she's happy about what she tells me and she's not seen as a troublemaker.
Everyone in the group values each other and the thoughts of each other with mutual respect. This is important because ideas and solutions to problems will not be shared with the whole team without mutual respect. The people who worked in my office had mutual respect for my job with the military. This was very beneficial because it allowed us to have honest brain storming sessions that helped us as a group to tackle some of the most difficult tasks. It is also important to embrace diversity because everyone comes from a different background and has different views on how to deal with a job. By being open to the information presented by individuals, it is necessary to embrace diversity.
The military is an example of this. You are thrown into a team of 60 people who come from different backgrounds when you undergo basic training. We had to learn to work as a team and accept different ideas from ours. It was very tough at first, but we were able to work together as a team until we worked it out.
