MM = 1*MM(C) + 4*MM(H)

= 1*12.01 + 4*1.008

= 16.042 g/mol

mass of CH4 = 27.1 g

mol of CH4 = (mass)/(molar mass)

= 27.1/16.04

= 1.689 mol

Balanced chemical equation is:

CCl4 + CH4 ---> 2CH2Cl2

According to balanced equation

mol of CH2Cl2 formed = (2/1)* moles of CH4

= (2/1)*1.689

= 3.379 mol

Molar mass of CH2Cl2,

MM = 1*MM(C) + 2*MM(H) + 2*MM(Cl)

= 1*12.01 + 2*1.008 + 2*35.45

= 84.926 g/mol

mass of CH2Cl2 = number of mol * molar mass

= 3.379*84.93

= 287 g

Answer: 287 g

mass of Fe = 26.5 g

mol of Fe = (mass)/(molar mass)

= 26.5/55.85

= 0.4745 mol

Balanced chemical equation is:

4Fe + 3 O2 —> 2 Fe2O3

According to balanced equation

mol of O2 reacted = (3/4)* moles of Fe

= (3/4)*0.4745

= 0.3559 mol

Molar mass of O2 = 32 g/mol

mass of O2 = number of mol * molar mass

= 0.3559*32

= 11.39 g
