Ans) Helds view of ethics differs from Kant's because hers focuses on the experience of caring being cared for. It's central moral action is that of being caring and benevolent. They are also mainly different due to Kant's use of universality. Ethics of care doesn't rely on morality being determined by universal laws. As opposed to just looking at the individual, the ethics of care looks at relational and interdependent aspects. I do not think they can be reconciled because Kan'ts ethics are focused on universality and universal rules while the ethics of care is not. B. According to Held, one of the things that the ethics of care calls into question is the independent individual aspect that the dominant moral theories are build on. She believes that it overlooks human interdependence. Another thing that she believes the ethics of care calls into questionis the lack of emotion. The dominant moral theories focus on using reason and rationality to deduce situations ignoring human emotions entirely. Lastly she also calls into question how abstract the dominant moral theories are. They focus on abstract and universal rules but, according to Held, some situations require specifics that universal law may not cover.
