Answer #1

2. a) How many pills will this patient need?

body weight = 50 kg

daily amount per kg body weight = 8 mg

So, bodyweight * amount/kg body weight = 50 * 8

= 400 mg

Therefore daily dose should not exceed 400mg.

Since it is 125 mg per pill, the number of pills to be given =400/125

= 3 pills per day

So,3 pills per day will be needed for the patient.

b) Since 3 pills are to be given at a 6-hour interval and the first dose is at 6 am, the other doses should be given at 12 noon and 6 pm.

Therefore, the last dose is to be given at 6 pm
