the purpose of the remaining step is to fix dihydrolipoyl transacetylase coA which is formed . The dihydrolipoyl transacetylase (E2) remains attached to the molecule even after acetyl CoA is formed . Hence dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase must reduce the  E2 and restore it to the original form
