Ordered Sandostatin (octreotide acetate)​ = 40 mcg subcut. q6h

q6h means every 6 hours

recommended dose is 100–600 ​mcg/d in 2–4 divided doses

As per label 1 ml Contains 50 mcg  octreotide acetate

how many milliliters will you administer per​ dose?

50 mcg contains= 1 ml

1 mcg will contain= 1/50 ml

Hence per dose 40 mcg will contain= (1/50) X 40

= 0.8 ml should be administered per​ dose
