  • Maternal instincts supports the care taking job of female nurses.
  • Higher proportion of female nurses in the healthcare sector.
  • Female nurses have soft behavior and more patience than male nurses.
  • Female nurses does not feel shy in their profession.

  • Male nurses earn more money than female nurses as they comprise small minority of professional nurses.
  • They receive quick promotions in their job.
  • Due to rising population, there is increase in demand for male nurses along with female nurses.

The risks of nursing being gender exclusive are :-

  • Nursing is a diverse profession. Gender discrimination would affect this.
  • There is shortage of nurses in the society due to rising population. Gender discrimination of nurses would further increase their shortage.
  • Nursing is a rewarding and challenging career for both male and female. Therefore it should not be gender exclusive.
  • Both men and women have equal opportunities in the nursing. Therefore it should not be gender exclusive.
