Answer: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease in which the blood glucose level increases as there are no sufficient amount of insulin production take place.

The patient require to take medication such as metformin to keep his blood sugar level normal. It is important for the client to have proper diet and should avoid caffeinated beverages as well as alcohol consumption.

Clients may have the following symptoms:

• Blurr vision
• Weight loss
• Poor appetite.

Client should monitor his blood glucose levels as by the glucometer. It is important to keep the blood sugar level in count. This is a kind of chronic disease which may give rise to other diseases such as hypertension.

Pain medications should be avoid until and unless the pain is extreme on the pain scale. The pain medication should be taken in the severe pain.
