WHITHER NURSING MODEL :

Whither nursing model represents the nursing theories in clinical settings at various health care practices.As nursing is a profession where a lot patience and technical skills are needed to cure illness of patients. Many theories and models have developed in describing current status of nurses in clinical settings and theory settings. Among them whither nursing model implies value of nursing theory in evidence based and multi disciplinary health care.

1. Arguments on nursing models developed as a lack of practice based care in health care settings, limiting to professional autonomy by the nurses and many of the counter point discussions has made on nursing practices. The first criticism is lack of practice in health settings which implies changes on nursing profession. As the nurses are having both clinical and theory knowledge are not efficient to handle certain critical situations in health care settings. The second criticism evolved is limitations of nursing professional to self autonomy. In the clinical areas nurses are focused on their own zone of work where they have to communicate with the medical team bodies. At some circumstances decision making process between nurses and doctors are not common where there developed argument, which led to professional clashes.

2. It is important to value nursing theories in multi disciplinary health care, as the nurses are providing self less care to the patients without any partiality. I believe that nursing models should have a common goal that is patient centered care and achieving of desired goals. Nursing models are formed to maintain inter disciplinary relations with patients and other health care professionals.

The second thing is nurses should have equal knowledge on theory as well as clinical practice, where they can perform well delivering of health care services. Professional ethics are to be followed while working in a health system. As the nursing models teaches about patient care, along with that they will teach about becoming a good person who helps the people in need. So, it is important to maintain professional dignity and respect the work which the nurses are efficient in providing health care services to patients.

3. Professional life nurses is very hectic and challenging day by day. Multi-specialty hospitals are growing day by day where the need of nurses is a lot. But the benefits for the nurses is very low when compared to the other professions. Pay scale is lesser than what we will do hard work in the hospitals. Leave sanctioning for nurses is the second most pity thing on this profession, as shift changes , double shifts, heavy work load in critical care units and other units are present . But the management of health care settings will not consider to those issues and they will fail in breaking their promises. I have to forgot my professional life after entering into my professional area where the recognition and respect to the cadre is less.

4. After reading the article whither nursing model I feel that nursing standards has to be elevated where all the nursing bodies should get their own space of work in their allotted sectors, improvement in salary basis on yearly bonuses,maintain the professional respect from doctors and other medical authorities, encouragement in every step of nursing practices, allowing nurses to provide their patient care to all the patients without any restrictions, free of professional politics and disequalities, creating their own zones of cadres, helping out through their tough times either professional or personal. The most burning issue I feel is nurses are limited to their spaces where they are not getting the oppurtunities to explore themselves. They have to step forward and start exploring new ways of techniques which are available in the health care sectors. When all the problems will clear then a standard health care practices will develop among nurses whivh is important in context of evidenced based and multi disciplinary health care.
