I need a reply to this discussion topic below. There is
definitely a trend of domestic violence and abuse against women who
are dependents. Perhaps these women are uneducated, unemployed or
in jobs that make them vulnerable and desperate. These women could
be drug/alcohol addicted, working as strippers or prostitutes.
There is someone else that has power over them, mentally and
financially, giving these women no voice, no defense and complete
dependency on someone who could inflict harm if they are not
compliant. Some of these women are mothers, wives, trying to make
money to feed their children. There are others that are trying to
feed an addiction, placing themselves in harm's way just for a
fix.
There is domestic abuse in every level of society, however. Even in
families that are wealthy, there are cases of abuse against the
women. These women are also weakened, either through manipulation
or vulnerability and so they are targets of abuse.
There are also the women who were abused as children and so their
adult life is emotionally unstable causing them to crave attention,
sex, money. These women dress and act very provocatively, placing
themselves at risk for abuse and violence.
Seeking out any type of psychological help is key. The woman who is
victim needs to speak to someone confidentially about what it is
that may be happening in the home, workplace, school, anywhere.
Having a trustworthy person, a counselor, priest, police, to
discuss what she is going through. There is also the National
Domestic Violence hotline for resources and advice.
(1800-799-SAFE). It may be difficult to leave the situation based
on the level of manipulation. Some women won't leave at first and
will need psychological counseling and physical examination
depending on how bad the abuse progresses.
The best self-defense is to avoid more violence. Most times,
abusers will react negatively and the victim will only be placing
herself in more danger. Unless she has self-defense training, which
all women should have, she should avoid being violent in return. It
really depends on a specific situation and how strong the woman
feels and how confident she is in defending herself with
violence.
Just like women, there are other groups that continue to face
discrimination today. Unfortunately, the LGBT organization is a
target for a lot of violence and hatred. People are still very
sensitive and have closed minds. They do not understand people, and
so they treat them horribly. This group faces a lot of false
stereotypes and ultimately, it is fed by those ignorant people who
are misguided and full of anger and their own insecurities.

Abuse and violence is a major part of society since decades, and it is identified that women are the major group that is highly vulnerable to harm and abuse by others. The post here indicates various facts regarding this issue. It highlightes how the victimization of women is somewhere self-inflicted in some cases and just due to their vulnerable nature in others. It is very rare to see the concept of victimization in this form, but yes many researchers identified that some people presipitate victimization on to themselves, unknowingly due to their vulnerable nature. As dicussed in this post the habits, lifestyle, responsibilities of women are concerned to be the fact that they may adapt to the situations that may lead to abuse or exploitation from society.
Domestic violence is one example of such victimization where mostly women and children are vulnerable and manipulated and tollerate abuse. It is rightly stated that the women in such conditions do not have ability to understand what is happening with them. They tend to be manipulated to such an extent that they have emotional affection for the abuser and do not leave it in first place. It is also correct that support, counselling and external agency support helps such vulnerable group to identify the harm they are in and take proactive steps to minimize it.
Thus, it is considered that abuse and violence is common in many parts of the society, but preventing it and minimizing it is mainly in the hands of the victim. The ability to identify the harm and act against it is crucial, this is the only way the violence against women and other such groups can be prevented.

I need a response to the discussion below. Part 1: Women experience higher rates of abuse or intimate partner violence because of a long history of societal gender "roles" and "norms". Women were traditionally/historically looked at as homemakers who serve their male partner or husband. Men were traditionally considered to be the head of the household and women were to listen to them, even if they were being abusive. Women often did not speak out about being abused because they...

I need a reply to the discussion below. The ability to choose whether or not you would like to get pregnant is an important decision that should lie solely with the person or people being affected by the pregnancy. Considering this, I do believe that oral contraceptives should be available over the counter for women to purchase whenever they please or deem necessary for their lives. This is an empowering decision process for women and allows them the freedom to...
Domestic violence is characterized by the complexity of the relationships and actions of the perpetrator who gradually creates an environment where he/she can perform violence and terrorize his/her victims, while on the other hand it is getting increasingly harder for the victim to find a way out of the abusive relationship. I need someone to help proofread this paper and make the necessary corrections The author’s argument is the imprecatory psalms can be used in Christian counseling. According to Dominick Hankle, (2010), “the psalms lend themselves nicely to emotional expression. They are an excellent vehicle for resolving emotional stress leading to psychological and spiritual benefits” (p. 275). He states, “Negative emotions can play a part in healing from past trauma when properly experienced” (Hankle, 2010. p.275). However, he cautions, “Biblical interpretation...
