Answer #1

Dose of ceptaz = 20 mg per kg

Weight of patient = 132 lbs = 132 * 0.45 = 59.4 kg

So dose = 59.4* 20 = 1188 mg

200 mg per ml.

1188 mg in 1/200 * 1188= 5.94 ml

So total volume to be infused over 45 minutes = 100 ml D5W + 5.94

= 105.94 ml

60 gtt = 1ml

105.94 ml = 105.94 * 60 = 6356.4 gtt

Rate of infusion = 6356.4 / 45 = 141.25 gtt/min

But looking at the options ,it can be said that the dose of ceptaz has not been taken into account.

100ml = 100 * 60 = 6000 gtt

So rate of infusion = 6000/45 = 133.33 gtt/min

So answer is B.
