1. Point source outbreak have a focal source during a limited period of time. for example - spread of hepatitis A from a restaurant.

2. Propagated source refers to the outbreak when a no. of cases that serves a souce of infection for others, which in turn behave as source for some other. this successive series of infection is propagated source. for example - measles outbreak.

3. Behavioral risk related means outbreak because of the strong influence of the several behaviours on health. sexual practices, tobacco, ciggarette, and alcohol consumption are some of its modes. for example - high sexual behviour n sexaul networks can cause spread of STDs.

example - The epidemic outbreak in crack cocaine use the U.S. syphilis in 1980s.

4. Zoonotic means relatd to animals i.e. spread betwen animals and germs. animals sometime carry pathogen lke parasites, viruses, bacteria, etc. which causes illness. SARS and Rift valley fever are the examples of zoonotic outbreak.

5. Unknown etiology refers to the outbreak when the reason, mode of transmission, etc is unclear. all we have is the prediction that the outbreak happened could be due to a new pathogen, exposure to unknown source, etc.
