partial birth abortions is a procedure which is done by pulling out the feet of a fetus after puncturing the skull of a living fetus within the womb. sometimes fetus will survive for hours even after expulsion(so it is called partial birth). this procedure is mainly doing after 16 or 20 weeks of pregnancy.

it is controversial because, the partial-birth abortion act is only indicated to save the life of the mother if it is endangered by any physical disorder or injury, or any risk due to pregnancy. most of the partial-birth abortions are performing during the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy, on the healthy fetus of healthy mothers.
