The contributions of digital technology to x-rays include the production of the X-ray images without the use of film, the need of darkroom, as no chemicals are required in this technology and we can save and share images electronically. Digital X rays use 70% less radiation than traditional film x-rays; thus they reduce the exposure to the radiation. They are more environmentally friendly and the chances of issues from going undetected and/or missed are less in digital technology.
