In most public schools in the United States it is a requirement that prior to entering school, children must be immunized against the common childhood diseases. There have been legal cases of parents who have refused to have their children immunized because of religious or other beliefs. This creates the potential of raising ethical dilemmas. For example, state governments require that all children be enrolled in some type of formal education by a certain age. Yet, without immunization children may not be allowed to attend school. With that being said, my questions are:

  1. Should parents who object to immunization because of religious, personal, or ethical beliefs have this requirement waived?
  2. If so, should their children be allowed to attend school?
  3. What might the consequences be if they attend school?
  4. Would waiving this requirement be legally and ethically fair to families whose children are immunized? Why or why not?

Immunization is a practice to prevent infectious disease. All states mandates the vaccination to children but also excempts it on the basis of religious belief when the parents object. In certain cases education plays a key role not all disease is self preventable in this world ,making the necessity of immunization can prevent them, save unnecessary medical expenses, burden to children on infection. If the requirement is waived there will be a uniformity throughout the nation and parents to be educated in regards to it that nothing is constant or permanent, things changes ,and the rules are made by man.

During an outbreak as a way to prevent infection the children's are refrained from attending the school until the outbreak settles down. The children's can be allowed if they are healthier and in good immunity

There are high chances of child getting infections and are prone for it easily

This is legally fair when thinking of the nation as a whole but it will definitely affects the ethics of the family which they followed for years

All children's should be vaccinated but if a parent gives it in a written format that their child shouldn't be vaccinated onnthe grounds of religions cannot be immunized.

In the United States, the public role in education is enormous. In some countries, education is provided primarily by private entities. Why does the government in the United States play such a large role in education? Is education a public good? Should governments offer education alternatives, like school vouchers to attend private schools of parents’ choosing? If many school budgets are already strained, how might vouchers exacerbate inequality? Justify your position.
