Different images of nursing exist such as ranging from being considered an angel of mercy to the sexual stereotype as often portrayed in works of fiction. According to the depiction of Florence, Nightingale nurses are generally considered inferior to the physician. According to the Gallup, poll nursing has been identified as one of the most honest and ethical professions in America. Thus due to the influence of media, people’s opinions or from experience these images affect nursing care as the profession is highly respectable associated with the concept that it provides care to the humanity but at the same time due to the prevalent stereotypes, it is considered inferior to the profession of physicians. These opinions affect the profession as due to these varying views only those people who want to care and help others opt for this profession.
