The World Values Survey is a global research project that explores people’s values and beliefs and how they change over time. The data we need to analysis includes the following information: gender, age, marital status, educational attainment, work status, feeling of happiness and level of life satisfaction of respondents who have participated in the surveys. For the variable life satisfaction, the answers are coded to a 10-point Likert scale where “1” means dissatisfied and “10” means satisfied.

You are consulted to investigate the life satisfaction of Singaporeans in the recent decade or more specifically, whether Singaporeans have become more or less satisfied with their life and what the reasons and consequences of the changes are.

If you have a free hand to study this research question starting from data collection to analysis, demonstrate how you would conduct the project. Keep your answer within 500 words.

So the survey contains following points,

Gender, Age, Marital Status, Educational Attainment, work status, feeling of happiness, and level of life satisfaction,

First select a sample such that all group age can be adequately included, and also the ratio of gender is maintained.

Once we have that data we look at the educational attainment and work status to find any gaps between those and the feeling of happiness. Once all data are sorted we look at life staisfaction. We look at various time period to see what factors correspond to higher life satisfaction and whether same is repeated or not. We measure each variable independently against life satisfaction and than can conclude how much each factor is impacting the same
