Hypothyroidism signs and symptoms may include ( MayoClinic)

  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Increased sensitivity to cold
  • Dry skin
  • Weight gain
  • Puffy face
  • Hoarseness
  • Muscle weakness
  • high blood cholesterol level
  • aches, in muscle, tenderness, and stiffness
  • Pain, stiffness or swelling in joints
  • Heavier or irregular menstrual periods
  • Thinning hair
  • Slowed heart rate
  • Depression
  • Impaired memory
  • Enlarged thyroid gland (goiter)

The cause may include; autoimmune disorder known as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, correcting hyperthyroidism can end up lowering thyroid hormone production too much, resulting in permanent hypothyroidism, surgery of the thyroid, radiation used to treat cancers may lead to, hypothyroidism. Medications can contribute to hypothyroidism such as lithium, used for treating certain psychiatric disorders.
