The content of a vial of penicillin G potassium weighs 600mg and represents 1 million units. How many milligrams are needed to prepare 15g of an ointment that is to contain 15,000 units of penicillin G potassium per gram? I already know the answer but I'm not sure how to work it out. Thank you.

Order

Penicillin G.

Available dose= 600 mg / 1 million units.

Needed dose= 15 gram. And 15000 units / 1 gram.

Calculation.

As we need answer in mg so we will not convert mg to gram.

= 600 mg / 1000000 units X 15000 units / 1 gram X 15 gm

after cancelling out units and gram we will get 135 mg.

​​​​​= After calculation 135 mg will be obtained .
