Public services at times are uneven and of poor quality. This generally varies from nation to nation and states to states. Most of the time economies with low rate of growth fails to provide quality public services to all. This is because of the failure in bureaucratic structure and a high level of redtapism. There are lots of leakages in the systems due to which the facilities targeted for general people do not reach to the needy people. It can be found in unavailability of electricity,clean drinking water, good quality roads, safe and generic medicines, essential health care items etc.
Against the Statement:
In developed and high income countries the public services are just and evenly distributed and are of best quality. This comes from the fact that people are taxed very high and basic amenities are provided free of cost. People are educated and well verse with their rights and responsibilities. This leads to the government controlling corruption,being more responsible and taking care of its citizens.
Public goods are often thought to be goods or services that are provided by the government, but that is confusing cause and effect. What are the characteristics of a public good? Hint: Who provides the public good is not one of the characteristics.
