In the Griffin (2015) article, the concluding statement is “One size does not fit all. The right choice is the one best suited to the project at hand and the culture of the healthcare institution.” Based on your own external research, what do you believe the author means by “one size does not fit all” relative to project management in healthcare? In your response, consider project management skill levels/education, the culture of the organization, etc. Provide examples with your response.
Healthcare is a much bigger sector to learn, earn and care."One size does not fit all" in simple refers to a hospital cannot be run by a single person nor a patient can be treated by single healthcare professional. The work is interrelated to one another. For instance when a patient visits a health-care provider on an outpatient basis, after check up the patient must go to a pharmacist to get the prescribed medicine thus two professionals are involved .Similarly in case of an in-patient admission multiple workers are involved like the nurses, nursing aide, phlebotomist, dietician, laboratory team, etc.,
The management skills also greatly vary, for instance if a nurse handle handle patient ,they should be with multiple skills like understanding the patiwnts language, culture, ethics, beliefs, practices, treating them with dignity and rights. The same nurse can exhibit a higher power to a housekeeping staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the ward or the surrounding ,they can act as receptor.Hence in case when there is lack of these type of multiple staff the organizations can not be run efficiently. Hence this clarifies that having one thought ,one way of practice ,thinking etc., cannot fit all who are in different ideologies and needs.
