The significance to our local community and the state community in relation to the disease lies in the fact that; the local community and the state community are important in launching efforts to prevent disease, prolong life and promote health through the organized efforts and informed choices of society, with the help of various; organizations, public at the level of; private, communities and individuals. Thus the upstream efforts of disease prevention cannot be launched without the involvement of organizations at the local community and the state community level, for example, the efforts to raise awareness for the prevention of diabetes type 2 by the change in lifestyle i.e. eating habits, exercising and weight control.
