*Lactobacilli: It produce lactic acid from carbohydrates and causes dental caries. Present during demineralization and more active during progression stage.

*Mutans streptococcus:It is highly active during demineralization and cavity formation.  

*Actinomyces: It is associated with root caries and highy active in initial phase and helps in the formation of dental cavities.
