Answer #1

a. Required medication = required dose \times available volume \div available dose

                                      = 700 \times 1.2 \div 500

                                      = 1.68 ml or 1.7 ml

To administer 700 mg of Cefadyl 1.7ml of injection is needed every 6th hourly.

b. For 24 hours we administer 4 times, that is 1.7 \times 4 = 6.8 ml in 24 hours

c. Cefadyl 700 mg \times 4 times = 2800 mg in 24 hours

1 vial contains 1000 mg we need 3 vials to administer 2800mg for a 24 hour period.
