For this concept sketch I'd like you to sketch, label, and describe the Greenhouse Effect. You must include the relationships between incoming (short wavelength) solar energy, infrared (long wavelength) energy radiated by the earth, and greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. Your sketch and description should include the different paths for incoming solar energy, and at least 3 different greenhouse gasses.

Greenhouse effect is a natural process in which the incoming radiation emitted by the sun is absorbed by the atmosphere and about 23% is absorbed by greenhouse gases such as water vapor,CO₂, methane etc.These gases absorb the long wave radiation leaving the earth and then re-emit the long wave infrared radiation which helps to maintain the temperature of the earth in the absence of short wave solar radiation emitted by the sun .The problem arises when this process is amplified and thereby causing more heat to be trapped by these gases when there concentration increases through anthropogenic sources.
