when you talk to your family (parents, grandparents, other) do they say that parenting was easier in their time or harder? Are there similarities of then to now?
Parenting in older times was difficult as it is compared to now because they had to put a huge labour in making their child learn various activities and also to look after their health. The schedule time was very tight for them because they had to manage their household with child. Due to less development in technology at that time parents has to deal with all sort of work with their own like making a child learn, taking them to school, playing with them or admitting them to extracurricular activities. As now children are more attach to T.V, mobile or video games they spent a lot of time in their own world making a parent work less to some extent.
Managing a family with a child is a herculean task like, a wife has to manage all sort of work like serving food for all, to her husband before he leaves for the office or her father in law or mother and also to look after the child at the same time, dropping him to the school and if both parents are job seeker than grand parents had to play the role, so it was a kind of messed up situation which use to happen at that time. Sometimes if there are plenty of offspring than it was difficult to provide quality time to each one of them which results an unstable or unproductive growth within a child. Parents are less flexible at that time as compared to now due to the scarcity of resources they were unknown to various types of diseases occurring to their child which possess an unwanted danger for them.
Though there are some similarities which remain common and unaltered as the time passed like the love, affection and possessiveness for the child. Due to technology and advent of various things life of parenting has become smoother and simpler. With time children have also become smarter and they could look after their own health from a small age and hiring a caretaker, cook or any other person to look after their family or child had made the task easy. Internet and availability of various resources with time had also played an impressive and effective role.
