Road -map programme

The Road-map articulates a shared strategic approach to support effective measurement and accountability systems for a country's health programmes.

Five basic strategies of the road-map programme.

1. Ensuring a strong Health Information Exchange Programme foundation across the state for providers, health plans and public health : These investments will strengthen national information governance, e-Health architecture and data standards. Key components of the country HIS and accountability platform outlined in this Road map will be strengthened in line with the international standards and commitments.

2. Aggressively supporting patient centric , value based care and certain tools, supports, services desired by stakeholders.

3. Enabling interoperability and innovations using HIE as a foundation: Countries and global partners will sieze the power of innovation to improve the availability, quality and use of data for decision making in health.

4. Promoting efficiency and affordability of health information Systems: open access and software systems will continue to expand in response to country demands, and global programmes of research implementation will be used to overcome obstacles and strengthen global Health Information System standards.

5. Advocating collectively for the stakeholders: National level stakeholders are central to both country and global accountability in health. In addition to monitoring progress nationally , the road map will also be reviewed globally, ideally through the World Health Assembly, and by making data available for public review.
