Information technologies are combining with advances in mechanical and other branches of engineering to create significant changes in transportation technology”(Monteiro and Prentice, 2018).For each mode of transportation (Air, Ocean, Rail, Road) outline and distinguish changes in technology that are general (apply more broadly than transportation), vs. specific to transportation and which will impact demand and willingness to pay vs. impact supply and cost efficiency. In each case distinguish freight from passenger transportation.
I agree with the statement and the discussion. IT is very much useful in combining with the advances in mechanical and other branches of engineering too for developing any significant changes in the transportation industry.
And as you have said there are various modes of transportation for various reasons and purposes. So to distinguish the freight from the passenger transportation costs, we have first find out the actual costs that are being incurred by us for running the transportation vehicle, let it be a flight a car or a truck. There are fundamental differences between passenger and freight transport systems since they commonly move through separate conveyances. It is however at their respective terminals that the differences are the most acute since they involve different facilities and often different locations. While each passenger is an independent decision-making unit, each load of freight must be managed from its origin to its destination.
In Air, the technology has been changing from the day one of operating flights to the now jet fighters too. In the passenger planes we've got so many options and features for the passengers for them to enjoy the benefits while travelling. Such as giving them spacious cabins with TV, smart connectivity etc etc. There will be an endless list for the technological changes in the airline industry,
In the marine transportation too we have many technological changes, the major and drastic change i have personally seen is the navigation ways and methods, in the olden days we used to have literally nothing to the guide the captain and the ship along a specific path but now a days we have everything like literally everything including the navigation, food supplies, maps, radar systems for the ship to safely reach the destination.
For the Rail industry the major advancements are seen in the main engines that carry the passenger compartments. Although we've got many features and technological changes in the compartments too, we have much more changes when compared to them in the main engines. Now most engines are electrically run and in some of the countries like japan we seen hyper trains which are run through the magnetic power of some power that is faster than the normal trains.
And also in the road industry we've also got much more changes, in the olden days we have seen less number of cars, bus and motorcycles. But now a days due to the rapid changes in the technology we have many technologically advanced cars that can even save your lives in the worst and horrible crashes. So in this way each industry has been technologically changing from day to day.

How can we assess whether a project is a success or a
failure?
This case presents two phases of a large business transformation project involving the implementation of an ERP system with the aim of creating an integrated company. The case illustrates some of the challenges associated with integration. It also presents the obstacles facing companies that undertake projects involving large information technology projects.
