50. All the physical signals are practically analog signal but the processors are digital, therefore, we need an A to D converter to convert the analog signal into a digital signal. The number of bits of ADC determines how best the ADC is in terms of resolution. More is the resolution of ADC more will be the number of bits required by ADC. Consider a general block diagram shown below

For precise conversion, both A2D converters should be of the same bit. If the number of bits of D2A converter is less than the number of bits of ADC, then the precision will be compromised.

51. A low pass filter is used with D2A converter to reconstructs the original signal. We use a low pass filter because the original signal is low frequency signal.
